Origamic Architecture*
180 degree-Open Type
Pop up Cards

A new technique of Origamic Architecture for making a 180 degree-open type simply by cutting and raising (cut-up 180 degree-open type) is introduced. Unlike previous methods, the cut-out area is visible in the base board and the raised part is housed compactly in the area, when the work is folded up. This is space saving when storing the work.
Furthermore, the work itself is completed just as simply as the 90 degree-open type without almost any litter at all. This is, therefore, one of approaches friendly to the earth and the environment in the art form of paper craft, I believe.

*Origamic Architecture was developed in 1981 by Masahiro Chatani; presently Professor emeritus, Tokyo Institute of Technology.
His incredible master pieces can be seen at Masahiro Chatani's web site (Written in Japanese).
